Jamy Ian Swiss is many things: a scholar, a critic, a historian, a performer. But in this Masterclass, Swiss will zoom in on card technique to deliver an essential set of lessons on some of card magic’s most abused and misunderstood sleights. Swiss has been teaching students for decades, refining the methods he uses to communicate complex sleight-of-hand by breaking them down into simple, achievable steps. While this Masterclass will get into intricate sleight of hand detail, all are welcome and there will be stepping stones for all skill levels. Mario “The Maker Magician” Marchese is an award-winning performer, lecturer and creator that has toured around the world sharing his unique brand of magic. Known for his “maker” skills and distinct “Punk Rock” style, Mario is a master of pushing the boundaries of innovation. He has appeared on countless national television shows from Sesame Street to HGTV. However, his most significant mainstream fame can be attributed to one of his most prized creations, Automabot—a robot magician that became a social media sensation with its amazing magic trick videos.

Mike Pisciotta is the official resident magician at the Magic Castle, a distinction that few others can claim. During his residency there, he has honed a fifteen-minute act to perfection. In addition, Mike is a sought-after magician in the Los Angeles area and around the world. The signature quality of Mike’s magic is that his presentations are tight, lean, but have impact and, often, meaning. They are polished through thousands of thoughtful performances, and we’re delighted that he has agreed to share some of his most prized routines.
Hawaii’s Kainoa Harbottle is regarded as one of the world’s finest coin magicians, and what we like best about him is that he’s the “complete” coin magician. That is, his skill is world-class, and he does all sorts of unusual, beautiful moves with grace and precision. But Kainoa is also wildly clever, and he has created a mountain of tremendous coin material. Finally, Kainoa is a relaxed, funny performer, and his presentations are often the best part of his magic. We’re delighted to welcome Kainoa as a Masterclass Live Instructor, and he will focus on a mixture of new and published routines, as well as material that will challenge experts, and other things that will be achievable for those who have never done a coin trick in their lives.
